If you are fully matriculated* and unable to attend your next upcoming course due to other obligations, you may choose to take a Leave of Absence (LOA) and to register for a later course session. Up to 2 LOAs may be granted over the course of the entire MScFE program. LOAs are not included in the transcript and do not count against the Maximum Time Frame (MTF). The Registration Tool tracks your LOAs and you will receive email notifications with further instructions and reminders of when to return to your coursework. LOAs can only be granted during the Registration Period for your next upcoming course.

If you are already enrolled in a course but unable to participate, you may use the Registration Tool to cancel your course enrollment within the first week of the course.

Students who do not actively participate in the first week of a course by completing one of the activities listed above are automatically cancelled from the course. Students who fail to actively participate in the second week by completing one of the activities listed above are automatically withdrawn from the course. Note that completing Week 2 activities during Week 1 does not prevent automated course withdrawal. (Refer to the University’s attendance policy for more information).

Upon successful completion of MScFE560 Financial Markets* students are granted a maximum of 2 Cancellations and 2 Withdrawals over the duration of the MScFE program. Cancellations and Withdrawals count against the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) of 3 years permitted to complete the program. In addition, Withdrawals appear on the transcript.

Cancellations are not included in the transcript but do count against the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) of 3 years to complete the Program. You can use a maximum of 2 Cancellations over the duration of the entire MScFE program.

If you are no longer able to complete your coursework in weeks 2 or 3 of a course, you can use the Registration Tool to withdraw from your course. Similarly, if you do not complete any activities during that time, you will be automatically withdrawn. Withdrawals are included in your transcript and count against the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) of 3 years to complete the Program. You can use a maximum of 2 Withdrawals over the duration of the entire MScFE program.

You can manage and keep track of your course Cancellations, Withdrawals, and Leaves of Absence (LOA) via the Registration Tool:

*NOTE: Students are considered fully matriculated once they have successfully completed the MScFE560 Financial Markets course and submitted their official transcripts. If you are a new student who has registered for MScFE560 Financial Markets, you do not have the option to take a Leave of Absence (LOA). However, you may opt to cancel your enrollment (in week 1) or withdraw from the course (in weeks 2 and 3). You are granted a maximum of 2 Cancellations and 2 Withdrawals for this course. Because you are not fully matriculated yet, your Cancellations and Withdrawals for MScFE560 Financial Markets do not count against the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) or appear in your transcript.
