Your transcript is an important piece of your MScFE application journey because it is proof that you have met the minimum academic requirement for admission (i.e. a bachelor's degree). Here's what you need to know:

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
At the time of your application, an unofficial transcript is sufficient. Please note an official transcript will be required in addition, after admittance, to the MScFE program.

  • What is it?
An unofficial transcript is a scanned or electronic copy of your transcript and includes:

    • Number of credits earned

    • Degree earned

    • Your GPA

    • Completion / Conferral date

  • How do I submit it?
You personally upload during the application process

  • What do I need to know?

    • Only submit a transcript for your highest previously earned degree. For example, if you have completed a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, you will only need to submit a transcript for your master's degree;

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
Once you've been admitted to the MScFE program, we recommend that you arrange the submission of your official transcript via your previous University right away. Official transcripts can be submitted via email or by postal mail.

  • What is it?
An official transcript comes directly from your previous institution signed by an official and includes

    • All courses and grades for your previous degree

    • Your GPA

    • The official grading scale adopted by your previously attended institution

    • Completion / Conferral date

  • How do I submit it?
Request an official transcript to be submitted directly from your previous institution to WorldQuant University. Official transcripts must be signed by the appropriate university official. Students may not submit official transcripts.

Electronic: If your previous institution issues digital or scanned official transcripts, they should send yours directly to [email protected]. You may also forward the email received from an official at your previous University with your official transcript attached, but you must use the email address used in your WQU account.

Physical Copy: Institutions that do not issue digital or scanned copies of your transcript may ship a physical paper copy of your official transcript to the WQU Admissions Office in a sealed envelope or by secure mail. You may also mail a sealed physical copy of your official transcript directly to the WQU Admissions office by secure mail, but the official seal must be in tact and clearly show it is coming from the institution unopened.

    • Our mailing address is:
      WorldQuant University
      609 H Street NE, Suite 335
      Washington, DC 20002
      USA
      Phone number: +1(202) 556-3402

  • When is it due?
Official transcripts must be received by WQU prior to completion of your second course in the Program, Financial Data.

  • What do I need to know?

    • Official transcripts that are not in English will need to be evaluated by a member of NACES and submitted to the University for review to determine whether the degree is considered equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the United States.

    • Your official transcript must match the degree and institution listed on your unofficial transcript.

    • We recommended that students begin the process of obtaining the official transcript immediately upon beginning the first MScFE course, which allows 15 weeks for the process.

    • Official transcript processing and validation may take up to 5 weeks to review once received. Even after submission, you will continue to receive weekly emails requesting a copy of your Official Transcript until the transcript has been reviewed and validated. Please be patient and do not send additional emails

    • A degree certificate certificate alone is insufficient to satisfy your official transcript requirement

    • Higher National Diplomas (HND) are not considered equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s degree, which is the minimum academic requirement for admission into the MSc in Financial Engineering Program at WQU

    • Once your official transcript has been validated you will receive a notification email from WQU, "WorldQuant University | Official Transcript Received"

  • Need help requesting your official transcript?

The admissions department can request the official transcript directly from your former university on your behalf if you are able to provide the following information in an email to [email protected]

    • Email address of university registrar, student services or authorized department of record at your previous university

    • Name of university

    • Your full name on record at previous university

  • Have additional questions?
For queries regarding admissions and official transcript submission please email the Admissions Office at [email protected].

Important considerations before contacting the Admissions Office:

    • Processing transcripts takes up to 4-5 weeks with the admissions office.

    • You will continue to receive emails requesting a copy until the transcripts are reviewed and validated.

    • After 5 weeks, if you still haven't received the email titled "WorldQuant University | Official Transcript Received" you may submit a help ticket for assistance.

    • Please do not email multiple times about the same topic as it creates additional volume and delays response time.
