Why is the Applied AI Lab: Deep Learning for Computer Vision getting a new name?

At the time of its launch, the Applied AI Lab: Deep Learning for Computer Vision was the only deep learning and applied AI offering at WorldQuant University. As the University expands its portfolio of educational offerings, naming conventions are being updated to help prospective and current learners more clearly understand how each Lab fits within the broader learning pathway.

The updated name, Computer Vision Lab, reflects the Lab’s position as an advanced specialization for learners who already have a foundation in deep learning. Learners who are interested in computer vision but do not yet have this foundation may choose to begin with the Deep Learning Fundamentals Lab before progressing to this specialization.

The new name is intended to be clearer, more concise, and better aligned with the structure of WQU’s growing portfolio.

Does the Computer Vision Lab have a different curriculum?

No. The curriculum remains the same. While we regularly update course content to ensure it stays current and aligned with industry demand, the updated Lab name does not reflect any changes to the curriculum or learning outcomes.

I have already completed the Applied AI Lab: Deep Learning for Computer Vision. Will I receive an updated badge and certificate?

No, you will not receive an updated badge or certificate. The previous Lab name continues to accurately reflect the skills and competencies you developed through the Lab projects, and your existing credential remains valid.

What is Keystone?

Keystone is an integrated new learning environment designed to enhance your learner experience and to streamline the introduction of new features and technologies down the road.

Why is WQU moving its Labs to a new learning environment?

WQU is upgrading its learning infrastructure to better support long-term growth and improve the overall learner experience across our growing portfolio of educational programs. While this transition is focused on strengthening the technology that supports your learning, you can expect enhancements and improvements to the platform’s look and feel as well as new features down the road.

How will the migration to Keystone impact the learning experience in my Lab?

To ensure a seamless transition and an uninterrupted learning experience, the Keystone environment has been integrated with the WQU Learning Platform. You will continue to log into learn.wqu.edu with your existing username and password. When you navigate to your current course, your Lab project will automatically open in a new tab. From there, you can navigate to your virtual machine, quizzes, and other Lab components. The WQ Labs platform with your virtual machine remains the same, so the core of your learning experience will be unchanged.

How do I access the Keystone learning environment?

The Keystone environment has been integrated with the WQU Learning Platform. As such, you will continue to log into learn.wqu.edu with your existing username and password. When you navigate to your current project, your course will automatically open in a new tab. From there, you can navigate to your virtual machine, quizzes, and other Lab components.

Will my Lab progress be saved?

Your completed projects will remain on your academic record, but partial project progress will not be transferred. We encourage you to complete any partially completed projects by April 15th, 2026 to avoid losing progress and to ensure a smooth transition.
