The learning platform and access to embedded Vimeo videos are designed for optimal performance on a desktop or laptop computer, not on a mobile phone or tablet.
Below are some common Vimeo issues we see and how to resolve them.
(1) Unable to view fullscreen. To fix this, click the "Picture-in-picture" icon at the lower right corner of the video. Then drag the corners to expand the screen size. (See screen recording .mov file titled "How to expand video fullscreen"attached to the bottom of this help article).
(2) The error, "NameError: name 'VimeoVideo' is not defined". To fix this, run each cell in the notebook. Before attempting to play the video you must first run the cell that loads the Vimeo player.
(3) Location Restrictions. If you are in a country that has banned Vimeo (for example, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam or China), you'll need a VPN to access the videos.
(4) The video is not playing but your country allows Vimeo. This is likely a browser/device related error. Here are the steps you should take to correct the technical issue on your device:
Clear the cache and cookies on your browser, and refresh the page.
Ensure you are using the most updated browser version, if not, install necessary updates.
If you have any browser extensions enabled, disable them.
If you're running a VPN or any anti-virus software program, pause them.
If you have access to another internet connection, try using it to access the video.
If you have another browser installed on your computer, try using it to access the video. We recommend Google Chrome.
